What’s my story…
We originated from the seas and our mother's wombs so returning to water often makes us feel both alive and at peace. My aim is to remind us of our connection to nature, particularly water, and the grace and exhilaration that comes from embracing this relationship.
As a child, I borrowed the family camera time and again, eager to encapsulate a moment with people or nature. These pursuits, along with a love for both dance and swimming influenced my appreciation for grace, strength and beauty of the human form in motion.
My many years spent as a dedicated special education teacher, helping students discover their individual potential and joy honed my patience, empathy and ability to see and appreciate the world differently. SCUBA, free diving and underwater photography became a way to recharge and reconnect. My first subjects were ling cods and giant kelp. In the last few years, I’ve combined my love of dance with water attending Aguarahara (body work in water) and Water Contact Dance workshops. It felt most natural for me to get behind my camera and start capturing such authentic reconnection to ourselves in water.
